Nancy Andrews Announces Retirement from Promoting Natural Bodybuilding
For nearly three decades, Nancy Andrews has been one of the most influential figures in natural bodybuilding. As a four-time WNBF World Champion, longtime promoter, and former president of the WNBF, she built some of the most respected shows in the sport. From the Northeast Classic to the Monster Mash, Springmania, South Shore Natural, and Naturalmania & Pro Universe, Nancy’s events became cornerstones of the bodybuilding calendar and helped define the culture of drug-tested competition in Massachusetts and beyond.
In 2024, Nancy officially announced her retirement, marking the end of an extraordinary chapter while opening a new one for the future of natural bodybuilding. Below is her full statement:
Nancy Andrews’ Retirement Announcement
“What a year it has been! Worlds in Boston was my planned retirement – right where I started. The photo with me holding all my show medals has a photo from my last Worlds as a competitor in 2004. I knew going into that one it was the end of the road for me. The poster below, 2014 Worlds- my first worlds as owner of the WNBF. And finally 2024 Worlds, my last Worlds as president. It has been an amazing 30 years. Thank you to all of the athletes, coaches, judges, staff and families involved. I am very proud to be part of so many journeys in natural bodybuilding. It has been a total honor to be a small part of over 10000 entries I have had in my events over the years. Thank you all! >>Many do not know but bodybuilding has always been a hobby for me. The WNBF has grown so much that it needs way more attention. Tina and Bob have new partners- their children – Bobby and Tyra are ready to take the challenge on. They are really hard workers, kind, caring and passionate about natural bodybuilding. They will be leading the way with their parents in a true family business. I am excited for them and know the future is bright. >> My NAP shows are very important. I have worked hard to bring so many people into natural bodybuilding. The new promoters are capable of growing them into something greater than I ever had. My Springmania show will be promoted by Bonnie LeFrak and the Fitness Asylum. The show was added to my schedule when I partnered with Bonnie to create the largest transformation team/contest in the country. She is the perfect person to continue on the path and continue introducing so many new athletes to this great sport. The Northeast Classic was my very first promotion and is super special. The Monster Mash has always been a great way to finish off the year. Ryan Sullivan will be the promoter for these events. He is a creative genius and wiling to invest in the future. He will bring the shows to another level and I am so excited to see them grow. 2025 will be different but it is time for a change. Thanks again for all who chose to be part of my events. It has been a true honor”
